UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center’s Radiology & Women’s Imaging Department offers state-of-the-art imaging technology that ensures the safety, comfort, and health of our patients. Our department offers the most advanced equipment, including
- Two low-dose CT scanners that minimize a patient’s exposure to harmful radiation during a procedure by 40%
- An ambient lighting system that helps to increase patient comfort and minimize their anxiety
- 3D breast tomosynthesis mammography that captures several top-quality images, reducing the number of false readings. This innovative new technology allows our doctors to see breast tissue detail in a way never before possible to help find breast cancer at its earliest stages, when it is most treatable. And, it has been proven to reduce the need for follow-up breast exams
- A 3 Tesla MRI that delivers greatly increased image clarity that improves resolution of abnormalities for all body parts, and proves to be the most useful tool for patients with extremity, brain, spine and soft tissue injuries
